The Kenya Government has fully automated the issuance of Visa with effect from January 1st 2021. In this regard, all passengers travelling to Kenya from countries that require visas to enter Kenya shall be required to apply and obtain e-visa prior to travel as no visas shall be issued on arrival.
Requirements for Kenyan e-visa is as follows:
- Passport from an eligible country valid for at least 6 months from the intended entry date
- At least 02 blank pages available inside the passport to receive exit/entry stamps at the Kenyan border
- Copy of the passport information page
- Recent travelers’ color photograph, passport size
- A valid debit or credit card to pay the Kenyan online visa application fee
- Proof of travel i.e. hotel reservation, flight confirmation, invitation letter or travel itinerary
- A valid email address to receive the e-visa
Upon submitting the application form and receiving the approved e-visa, print at least 1 copy of the eVisa to be presented at immigration officials on arrival alongside the following:
- The same passport used to complete the Kenya eVisa application form
- Proof of sufficient funds for the duration of the stay
- Proof of return/onward travel
- Proof of hotel reservations
